Cedar Point

East Harbor State Park

Located on the shores of Lake Erie, East Harbor State Park has infinite opportunities for open-air recreation.  Boating, fishing, swimming, picnicking and camping are popular while nature enthusiasts will enjoy the plenty of waterfowl, shorebirds and other species of wildlife found in the park's scenic wetlands.

Put-In-Bay

There is no doubt that Put-in-Bay is one of the most unique places you will ever visit.  The tiny two by four mile island is dotted with historic homes, the nation's third tallest monument, quaint restaurants and local pubs. Beautiful water surrounds Put in Bay where you will find the best walleye and perch fishing in the United States.

Kelley's Island

Kelleys Island is located in the western basin of Lake Erie about four miles north of Marblehead and twelve miles from Sandusky on the Ohio mainland. The entire island measures more than four square miles and is the largest fresh water American island in Lake Erie.

Miller's Boat Line

Miller Boat Line runs scheduled trips every half hour between Catawba Point and Put-in-Bay.  An 18-minute ride, the ferry service carries both passengers and vehicles.

Harbour Town 1837

Harbour Town is home to several of retail shops, restaurants, professional businesses, marinas, accommodations and tourist activities.  Downtown public docks are within walking distance of a museum, dozens of boutiques, art galleries and fine dining.  Enjoy the sandy beach, recreational boating of every kind, jet skis, canoeing, sailing and more where ship building was once the major industry.

Vermilion River Reservation

Straddling two adjacent areas separated by the Vermilion River—Mill Hollow on one side and Bacon Woods on the other - this flawless park is a favorite of picnickers, naturalists and anyone who just wants to enjoy its natural beauty.  If you're looking to picnic in a beautiful place with plenty of activities for both adults and children, this is an ultimate place to come. With 273 picnic tables and four reservable shelters, the Vermilion Reservation draws over 230,000+ people a year - making it the number one picnic area in the Lorain County Metro Parks system.

Paper Moon Vineyards

Paper Moon sits on 50 acres of cleared and wooded land just west of the Vermilion River in the historic harbor town of Vermilion, OH.  Located less than two miles from Lake Erie, Paper Moon profits from the moderating climate the lake provides.  This property lies in a region known for its prosperous vineyards and the remnants of an old concord vineyard can still be found near the entrance.

Vermilion Kayak Trail

A new water trail along the Vermilion River, Black River and Lake Erie will make kayaking and canoeing more accessible and user-friendly, thanks to Main Street Vermilion and the Lorain County Metro Parks.  Main Street Vermilion initiated the project that resulted in the state Division of Watercraft working to designate a 27-mile trail through the three bodies of water.  Also called a blueway, the trail will be a designated 27 miles of waterway along the Vermilion and Black rivers and Lake Erie.

Scenic River Cruises

Take a 50-minute tour and enjoy wildlife and the natural scenery. You'll see working marinas and boatyards along with riverfront homes. You may even get a glimpse of Vermilion's charter boats returning with their catches.  Learn the history behind this New England-style fishing port which once was home to fleets of steam fish tugs and fish houses.
